Non-profit organizations as a form of citizens' associations and organizations

Non-profit organizations may be created in order to achieve social, charitable, cultural, educational, scientific and administrative purposes, to protect the health of citizens, development of physical culture and sports, meet the spiritual and other non-material needs of citizens, protection of rights and legal interests of citizens and organizations, dispute resolution and conflicts, legal aid, as well as for other purposes, aimed at achieving the public good. The forms of non-profit organizations in the Russian Federation are public and religious associations, foundations, non-profit partnerships, institutions, autonomous non-profit organizations, unions and associations, public corporations. These forms of non-profit organizations listed in the Federal Law "On non-profit organizations." However, this list is not exhaustive, as there are other forms of non-profit organizations, the legal status of which is governed by other legislation (such as consumer-cal cooperatives).
