Today in the Russian Federation there is a tendency to increase the production of livestock products. One of the most promising areas is dairy cattle breeding. Dairy cattle breeding allows the need of the population for food products. Allocate specialized breeds of dairy cattle. The influence of the breed on milk production is determined. The article provides a description of many specialized breeds and intra-breed types of dairy cattle: Black-and-White breed, Kholmogory breed, Yaroslavl breed, Ayrshire breed, Red Steppe breed, Holstein breed, Simmental breed, Guernsey breed, Angler breed, Swiss breed, Red Danish breed, Norman breed, Tagil breed, Istoben breed, Finnish breed. The features of the exterior, conditions of detention, suitable climatic conditions, features of labor productivity, milk quality, benefits and use of modern specialized dairy breeds are given. Intrabreed features have an exterior, noticeable breeding, reproductive and reproductive milky qualities.
