Abstract. The use of woody plants in the treatment of various ailments has a long tradition in Russia. Archaeological excavations indicate that our ancient Slavic ancestors, in addition to herbaceous plants, used woody plant species in the treatment of various diseases, such as birch, hawthorn, spruce, linden, juniper, pine, etc. It should be noted that almost all representatives of dendroflora have a therapeutic effect. Currently, woody plants are widely used not only in folk medicine, but also in official medicine, as they: relieve psychophysical stress, "feed" a person with positive emotions (rowan, lilac, cherry); reduce cholesterol (viburnum, hazel, apple); are used for allergic conditions (aronia, viburnum); strengthen the central nervous and cardiovascular systems (raspberry, sea buckthorn, cedar pine); they have an immunostimulating and antioxidant effect (oak, lemongrass, etc.).

Key words: woody forms of plants, chemical composition, medicinal raw materials, application in medicine.
